Bloodline Theory is a dynamic and versatile Heavy Metal/Hard Rock band from southeastern Massachusetts. When you see them live, you can bet that they will leave it all on the stage.
Bloodline Theory began as Bloodline Conspiracy in 2009. Fred Nota (vocalist for Escape to Everything) called Joel Hopkins (guitarist of Dying Days) and asked if he would be interested in forming a side project with Joel's cousins Matt Wein, (guitarist for Escape to Everything) and Matt's younger brother Mike Wein who had not been in a band yet. They spent the next several months writing and recording the songs that would become the first Bloodline Conspiracy demo.
Paul Lourenco (drummer for The Evening) was recruited to record drum tracks for the demo recordings, but couldn’t commit to playing with the band full time. When Joel’s band Dying Days disbanded, Joel called upon Paul Sylvia on bass and Dave Caradimos on drums. Both of whom were band mates of Joel's in Dying Days. They changed the band name to Torn Apart and played a handful of local shows before disbanding in the end of 2010.
In January of 2011 Joel once again asked Paul L. to record drum tracks for some of the Torn Apart songs that Joel had written but never got a chance to record. Once the recordings were done, the remaining members of Torn Apart decided to reform as Bloodline Theory and played their first show on 7/30/11. In 2012 Fred Nota left the band to pursue other musical endeavors, leaving Mike Wein to take the reigns as lead vocalist and front man for the band.
In the winter of 2013 bassist Paul Silva left the band. Joel immediately thought of Mike "Creature" of the band Woodland Creatures. Joel had been playing guitar for the Woodland Creatures and had already developed a bond with Mike both musically and personally. Mike had also worked with Paul Lourenco previously in Paul's band Trucks and Skulls. Mike's style and personality immediately gelled with the band. With a new line up and renewed sense of purpose, the band is preparing to release their first full length record "One and the Same" and performing locally and nationally to promote it.
Seven Spires' debut EP (mixed and mastered by Sascha Paeth (Avantasia, Edguy, Kamelot, Epica) is out! You can purchase it from the online store and at the merch booth at shows.
Theatrical metal storytellers Seven Spires are in the mixing/mastering process of their first LP! Drawing from all flavors across the spectrum of metal, their signature blend of melody, theatrics, limit-pushing and high caliber musicianship is tastefully dark and bittersweet; chaotic at times and comforting at others. In their first three years, they have played with touring bands including Arch Enemy, Amaranthe, Apocalyptica, Sonata Arctica, Fleshgod Apocalypse, Angel Vivaldi, Butcher Babies, Insomnium, Dark Tranquility, Huntress, The Agonist, Starkill, Kreator, Carach Angren, Abigail Williams, and Joe Stump.
All members are Berklee College of Music students or graduates.
Vocalist Adrienne Cowan won the full academic Lolapalooza-endowed scholarship in '13 to Berklee, where she focused her studies in Composition. She is known for collaborating briefly with Sweden’s Amaranthe, and Brazillian melodic rock/metal guitarist Mike Kerr, with whom she received the International Portuguese Music Award for Best Rock Performance in ’16. She employs a combination of her operatic/classical training and self-taught extreme vocal techniques to “deliver every bit of recorded promise live”.
Guitarist Jack Kosto has been a student of neoclassical legend Joe Stump (Holy Hell, Ravenlord, Exorcism) at Berklee since he was accepted at the age of 15, and was originally inspired to learn the art of shred after seeing mentor Michael Angelo Batio (Nitro, Holland) play his hometown. Jack was the youngest of his graduating class from Berklee at just 20 years old.He is proudly endorsed by Dean Guitars, Fishman Pickups, Swiss Picks, Asterope Cables and JOYO.
Bassist Peter de Reyna won a scholarship to attend Berklee beginning fall 2015. He is frighteningly proficient in jazz, classical, and metal, on both the electric and the upright bass. Pete cites Iron Maiden as his primary influence and draws inspiration from Obscura, Candlemass, Necrophagist, Revocation and Marcus Miller. Peter is proudly endorsed by Asterope Cables.
Live drummer Chris Dovas also received a scholarship to attend Berklee beginning fall 2016. At barely 17, he won the 2015 Blue Man Group Boston Drum Off competition, as well as attending Berklee’s renown Five-Week Performance Program. Chris’s palate of styles is wildly diverse, including rock, fusion, jazz and latin along with metal.
Seven Spires stand for all that is deliciously over-the-top and emotionally moving, and aim to provide a decadent escape from temporal chaos.
