Based out of Providence Rhode Island, Crowded Rooms was founded by singer Michael Higgs in the spring of 2017. After working as a videographer for multiple bands across the country, Michael decided to start stepping into song writing. During this process, Michael began working together with long time friend and collaborator, Richard Farrands. Richard has been the sole composer for most of Mike’s films and has been an active force in the New England music scene for many years. The writing process between the two of them was contagious from the start which lead to the birth of their upcoming, debut EP, “Violet Soul”
When it came time to record, the two thought it was only fitting for Richard to produce the EP as well, to achieve the exact sound they were aiming for. This also allowed them to experiment with a variety of sounds and ideas to create something that they felt is honest and powerful.
Based out of Providence, Rhode Island, Mad Passenger is the creative vehicle of singer-songwriter Ian Arieta. Arieta’s style of combining classic melodies and arrangements with experimental sounds and instrumentation shines through on Danger/Alive. The musical versatility of Arieta, bassist Dan MacKnight and drummer Nick Mirza refuses to be pinned down long enough to fit the mold of any one specific genre.
Danger/Alive is a 4-song introduction to the sound of Mad Passenger. A project years in the making between Arieta, MacKnight, and a collective of friends and musical collaborators, Danger/Alive, recorded (mostly) live at Big Nice Studios in Lincoln, RI, captures the lyrical honesty of Arieta and the musical energy and chemistry of the three musicians playing in a room together, in the purest sense of rock & roll.
