Saturday, April 22nd
Starting back in mid-2013, Overwith set out with a vision to create a style of hard rock music that is both unique and accessible. They’ve quickly made an impact on the Providence scene with their dedication, passion, and explosive stage performances. The band looks to use the momentum of Follow the Sun to increase their reach and build a larger audience.
Bloodline Theory is a dynamic and versatile Heavy Metal/Hard Rock band from southeastern Massachusetts. When you see them live, you can bet that they will leave it all on the stage. Bloodline Theory began as Bloodline Conspiracy in 2009. Fred Nota (vocalist for Escape to Everything) called Joel Hopkins (guitarist of Dying Days) and asked if he would be interested in forming a side project with Joel's cousins Matt Wein, (guitarist for Escape to Everything) and Matt's younger brother Mike Wein who had not been in a band yet. They spent the next several months writing and recording the songs that would become the first Bloodline Conspiracy demo.
Paul Lourenco (drummer for The Evening) was recruited to record drum tracks for the demo recordings, but couldn’t commit to playing with the band full time. When Joel’s band Dying Days disbanded, Joel called upon Paul Sylvia on bass and Dave Caradimos on drums. Both of whom were band mates of Joel's in Dying Days. They changed the band name to Torn Apart and played a handful of local shows before disbanding in the end of 2010.
In January of 2011 Joel once again asked Paul L. to record drum tracks for some of the Torn Apart songs that Joel had written but never got a chance to record. Once the recordings were done, the remaining members of Torn Apart decided to reform as Bloodline Theory and played their first show on 7/30/11. In 2012 Fred Nota left the band to pursue other musical endeavors, leaving Mike Wein to take the reigns as lead vocalist and front man for the band.
In the winter of 2013 bassist Paul Silva left the band. Joel immediately thought of Mike "Creature" of the band Woodland Creatures. Joel had been playing guitar for the Woodland Creatures and had already developed a bond with Mike both musically and personally. Mike had also worked with Paul Lourenco previously in Paul's band Trucks and Skulls. Mike's style and personality immediately gelled with the band. With a new line up and renewed sense of purpose, the band is preparing to release their first full length record "One and the Same" and performing locally and nationally to promote it.
It’s no secret that the world of rock music has gone through some big changes, and Boston, being one of the greatest hubs of hard rock & metal, was hit as hard as any. SILENT SEASON came together during this time, selecting a name that reflects the end of favorite venues, radio stations and record stores. “We selected a band name which has depth to it, an emotional play.” says drummer Dave Pappalardo. “There is not exactly a wildfire of new music happening right now, and as musicians we have to stay positive. Silent Season is starting a movement – holding the torch for bands which influenced us, with a sound uniquely ours.”
Citing influences ranging from Breaking Benjamin and Three Days Grace to Metallica and The Beatles, SILENT SEASON incubated for a year with lead singer & lyricist Jeremy Rae and drummer Dave Pappalardo writing and rehearsing to define the band before coalescing with guitarists Brendan Sheehan and Anthony Puliafico Jr.
The band has worked with producers Alex “The Greek” Hatziyannis at Old Folks Studios, Brad Young who has platinum LFO albums to his credit, and former Creed bassist and Dark New Day singer Brett Hestla. Twelve tracks were recorded for SILENT SEASON’s debut album, Breaking Me Down, which came out in the summer of 2012. The album was mastered at M-Works Studios in Cambridge, MA by Grammy-nominated producer Jonathan Wyner, whose credits include Nirvana, Bruce Springsteen, David Bowie and Aerosmith.
After a great national response and quickly making a name for themselves, SILENT SEASON decided it was time to record their new music since their sound has evolved. The band took the end of 2013 to hit the studio and start working on every idea they had. With 2014 as the game changer, they are making a point to play nationally and put out some of the best music this band has ever done.
Introducing SILENT SEASON - a band whose emotional melodic rock, forthright message and unrelenting determination is anything but quiet.
Fear the Masses
An intense combination of hip hop and post-hardcore, Fear the Masses embody the spirit and unrest of today's society. Influenced by (hed) p.e., Rage Against the Machine, and KRS-One, for their stance on social and political injustice, Fear the Masses ignites the crowd with passionately, powerful vocals mixed with a groove not heard in this heavy style of music.
Fear the Masses is a politically and socially driven band based out of the New Haven area of CT. Using hardcore and metal grooves under a hip-hop and soul vocals the band hopes to convey a message of unrest that has shaped this nation as of late. All the members of the band come from completely different backgrounds not just musically but economically and socially. These differences allow the group to have a unique sound and point of view that gets the crowd going each and every show. Fear the Masses (F.T.M.) draws comparisons to Rage Against the Machine, (Hed) p.e., and Deftones all of which are only part of the experience that Fear the Masses brings to their live show. The band has opened for national acts including Sevendust, Nonpoint, Taproot, Lacuna Coil, (Hed) p.e., Drowning Pool, Butcher Babies, Flyleaf, Eye Empire, In This Moment, Coal Chamber, Three Years Hollow, and Mushroomhead to name a few.
