Pressing Strings is an soul stirring trio based out of the Maryland’s capitol city of Annapolis. Their sound is a blend of American Roots, Blues, Folk, Rock and Reggae. The music stems from lead singer Jordan Sokel’s bluesy and soulful songwriting and anchored firmly by drummer Brandon Bartlett and bassist Nicholas Welker. As a trio the band has performed and recorded relentlessly, consistently releasing new material. 2016 will see two new EP’s from the band. Five From Three (March 2016), a 5 track EP done mostly live with minimal overdubbing, and Most Of Us (summer 2016) which the band teamed up with producer Scott Jacoby (John Legend, Jose James, Vampire Weekend…) and engineer/producer Neil Dorfsman (Bruce Springsteen, Dire Straits, Bob Dylan…)
Iron Eyes Cody
Pressing Strings is an soul stirring trio based out of the Maryland’s capitol city of Annapolis. TIron Eyes Cody was started in 2013 when Evan Allis shared a handful of songs he had written with a few close friends at Middlebury College. Wacky jams in a biomass plant soon turned to focus and careful refinement in the studio. A string of regular shows across the northeast were to follow. With a hodgepodge of instruments at the band’s disposal, Allis’ music ranges from haunting folk to electrifying rock. Immediate accessibility belies intense imagery and melodic nuance.
Their debut release, “Goodness All Good Saints Have Died,” was released in January 2016 on Future Fields. They currently live in Burlington, Vermont.
Joon is a rock band from Enfield, Connecticut originally formed by Guitarist/vocalist Carl DiFederico, and bassist, Ryan Guhne. They are now joined by Rhode Island native Luc Gendreau on drums, and fellow Enfield native, Olivia Gaines on vocals. In the forefront, their music is defined by powerful vocals, melodic guitar parts, and a funky rhythm section. The rhythm section will get you dancing, and their catchy melodies will leave you singing along. Their live shows are inclusive and kick-ass providing any size crowd with a great range of music to enjoy. Each member of Joon is inspired by a variety of different genres and artists which has successfully led the band to create their own evolving sound. They are influenced by everything from the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Dave Matthews Band, and Grace Potter, which has combined to form their own show stopping sound and performance that will bring the house down.
