Providence Street Art Festival
The first-ever Providence Street Art Festival will be held this fall, with 20 local artists competing for a $500 cash prize and bragging rights while revitalizing the Olneyville landscape.
Driving through the Olneyville section of Providence, you’ll notice that the area has been changing rapidly for the past few years. The area is being revitalized with incredible small businesses with a grassroots passion for supporting the community. Amazing new establishments, from award-winning restaurants and cafes to unique bars and live music venues are attracting a whole new crowd to Olneyville and breathing new life into the community.
The only reminders of the city’s past are the remaining ruins of old factory and mill buildings. Some of these buildings have already been transformed into artist and musician co-ops, and their once bleak exteriors have been turned into beautiful works of art reflective of the gifted artists and residents of The Creative Capital.
With the Providence Street Art Festival, we are encouraging local artists to leave their mark on the exterior walls of the old factory adjacent to Fête Music Hall, while competing for a $500 cash prize and bragging rights as the top street artist in Providence.
Each artist will be given a designated 8’x8’ space for their work. To enter into the contest you must send a sketch submission to firstname.lastname@example.org. Your submission must be musically themed and once it's been approved you'll be notified how to reserve a spot in the contest. All artists will receive a $50 gift card to Fête Music Hall to use on drinks or tickets to future shows. Submissions are due by 10/21.
The festival and competition will be held indoors and outdoors at Fête Music Hall, with live music, food & refreshments, and local vendors. The winning artist will be announced at the conclusion of the festival.
